Corporate Voices for Working Families has released its 2011 Employer Guide and EITC Toolkit, which provides companies with the tools to help employees take advantage of tax credits and other benefits. The guide provides detailed information about the Earned Income Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit, Medicaid and other benefits.
This year’s update also includes a special section dedicated to financial literacy with tips on how to stem personal financial stress among employees. Our partner company, Capitol One has also put together a very comprehensive website dedicated to financial literacy. We encourage you to check it out to learn more.
The 2011 EITC Toolkit was made possible through the generous support of the Annie E. Casey and Ford Foundations. To download the 2011 Employer Guide, click on the "Download File"; link below.
The 2011 EITC Toolkit also includes:
Paycheck Stuffers: These paycheck stuffers, available in both English and Spanish are an easy way to educate your employees about benefits they may be eligible for.
2011 EITC Poster: This EITC poster can be hung in a break room or other area where employees can see it.
2011 EITC Important Dates: You can use the resources in the Employer Guide to educate yourself and those who work for you throughout the year. To help your employees get these valuable benefits, make note of these important deadlines.
Stored Value Cards: One way to help your employees avoid refund anticipation loans, check cashers, and other high-priced predatory refund products is through stored value cards. A stored value card can deliver the speed and convenience of an electronically filed/direct deposit refund for employees without a bank account. Sometimes called “prepaid debit cards,” stored value cards may be branded by Visa or MasterCard.
Design files are also available for employers to rebrand the toolkit with their logos and images.
