Conversations With Congress

Throughout the year, we will be catching up with members of the 112th Congress to get a sense of their policy priorities, the political atmosphere and their views on issues near and dear to Corporate Voices' partner companies. We encourage you to check back regulary for updates.

Sen. Jeff Merkley

As Oregon’s junior U.S. Senator, Merkley is fighting to curb global warming, increase oversight and accountability of financial markets and banks, provide access to affordable health care for all, and make America work for working Americans. He is a member of the Senate Committees on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions; Banking and Urban Development; Environment and Public Works; and Budget.

In 2010 he introduced an amendment to the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) of 1938 in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act that requires employers to provide workplace support for nursing mothers in hourly positions.
